Will PAS’
remarks in ‘muzakarah’ represent Pakatan’s stance? DAP still cannot prevent the
implementation of Hudud
Based on
the conditions set by PAS for the ‘muzakarah’, I conclude that DAP is unable to
stop PAS’ bid of achieving a hardline Islamic state. DAP makes numerous empty
verbal promises for transformations and changes, to boost their image among the
Chinese community but the Rocket cannot even hinder PAS’ goal.
PAS tok
guru Dato’ Seri Nik Aziz had said that UMNO would have to abide with several
conditions set for them to engage in ‘muzakarah’ with PAS. The first condition
set is that UMNO must change its policy whereby Islam must come first. This is a
glaring and blatant attempt by PAS to enforce a theocratic Islamic state. Not
once will PAS ever forget about their ultimate goal. The dialogue between PAS
and UMNO is deliberately held for Pakatan to momentarily put the hudud issue in
temporal inactivity.
No matter
how often Pakatan holds meetings to discuss on Islamic state and Hudud law
issues, a consensus will never be achieved. Pakatan will do whatever it takes in
order to capture Putrajaya, including putting up a front of false unity among
the three parties. They will just turn a blind eye towards any issue. Promises
to solve them are intended to boost their image among supporters who have
ditched the Opposition.
Other than Karpal Singh who publicly opposed
PAS’ ideas for hudud law and Addin, no other DAP leader has taken considerate
action against PAS. Lim Kit Siang’s stance is constantly wavering and he has
been quiet over the religious-based regulations enforced by local councils in
PAS and other Pakatan-helmed states. The DAP adviser is always eluding the
predicament for sake of fostering good ties with PAS.
Much
speculation looms on the 13th General Elections and DAP must not
remain silent anymore and continue deceiving Chinese voters to cast their
ballots for PAS. The Rocket meanders on the fence over PAS’ intentions of
implementing Hudud laws and reaching a hardline state.
